Presentation The Urbanart Museum Hangaren
The first space of the Hangaren today is about 4,000 sq.m.
The painted surface today amounts to approximately 2,000 sq.m.
Hangaren’s paintings today, 2017/18 can be perceived as a single giant collaboration. It consists of 38 independent large paintings from about 40-120 sq.m., which together form a unique whole common structure.
65 Graffiti painters/artists have been painted in the Urbanartmuseum. They have taken care of everything including costs themselves. Even those who traveled from Belgium, Finland, Chile, England, Holland, Denmark, France, South Africa, Brazil or Canada.
Absolutely without thought, the Hangaren shows the largest collection of female graffiti painters/artists in the Nordic countries region. 13 during spring 2018.
In 2017 we have also established a working group/association named CFUK- Centre For Urban Kulture, consisting of representatives in/from Malmö within the fields of education, art, culture, public education and the public space, which in various ways processes the Hangaren and Malmö as an Urbanart city.
During the Gallery night 30/9 2017 at 18:00 to 24:00 we invited Art interested and everyone else to show all painting, all painters and the amazing environment the Hangaren means. The working group presented a series of thoughts on how Malmö can develop its already, in the Nordic region, Urbanartscen established an internationally interesting position. The opening ceremony attracted nearly 5,000 visitors and nearly 500 signed a Citizens’ Suggestion to establish an Urbanart museum in Malmö, which now, in 2018, is being processed and handled by the Offkonst Group for Malmö City.
